OK So What Should I Get Rid Of?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Beautiful machines Robert. I'm sorry to hear someone took the knob. Probably some unsupervised kid or someone who thought it would work to replace a broken plastic POS one.

But you have been lucky in the past so hopefully a replacement will turn up soon.

Great set Robert! Very un-Westy like in that I don't see any rust - anywhere! ;-)

Hopefully the mechanicals are in as good of shape as the exterior and boot. That knob is a bitch - hurts as bad as if someone took some paint and went graffiti-crazy on the set.

Enjoy!

Wipe those tears away little boy...

I couldn't believe my eyes when you posted that the washer knob had been taken. We can only hope it was by some young washer-lover that will treasure it forever and always keep secret where it came from when asked by his mother!

I got to thinking a while ago that my Victrola has a similar cover on the spindle, I wonder if that might work?

Sure enough! Other than being a different color, it looks like it's a match... See you in six hours?

Beautiful set Robert, and I LOVE that colour!!

I knew a replacement knob would show up soon around this group.... <:

The glass is always half full, yes?!

That's a cool-lookin' dial, Greg, with the hot & warm built right in. Wonder if the rinses are numbered and if there are 3 of them. How nice of you! More great Aworg Karma.

You can use a Norge agitator now, for the spindle cap on your Victrola ;'D

Christmas is Saved!

YAY, thanks Greg! I think that is that Knob! :)

See you in six hours, I'll be sure to record the season premier of Mad Men on AMC, which starts at 9:00!

What an awesome find Robert!
They are in great shape!
I am amazed about the washer dial being taken! That is wild!
I am sure that you will find the dial somewhere...
Thanks for sharing!

Omigosh!!!

Oh, Greg! The Victrola with optional third-rinse! Oh, you mustn't! Well, I suppose for Robert, but if you give it away, how ever will you play those 650 RPM records?

;-)

You are such a gem!!

Congrats Robert!!!!!!

My grandmother had that same machine (in white)in her house when I was just a kid. I used to sit on the kitchen floor in front of it and play with the machine. Glad ganksy can help you out with the dial. Would love to see a whole cycle video when you have it up and running.

wow, Blast from the Past

Robert, we had the same westy's in white. Sorry about the a##hole taking the dial from the Laundromat. My parent's laundromat lasted until the late 1960's they kept the dryer, (it flips upside down to stack), and it was working when they traded it in around 1975. I am so happy you were able to get these. Did they have the manual's? they are the ones that have the little cartoon character, called "The Silent Watchman", for off balance safety stop. arthur

oh forgot, Put your "mesh onion bag" on your outside dryer vent, thats what my Mom always did. No lint filter, its a lint flocker around the exhaust vent" our spacemate dryer dried Very HOT.

OOOHHH. They're beautiful! Congrats on such an awesome find. Sorry about the timer dial. I'm glad that Greg had a spare. Your laundry room needs some more color -- maybe you can stack them?

I hope that they're up and running in no time at all.

Enjoy!

Mike

Robert they are just beautiful!!! What a great find in such good condition. Greg, it is just fantastic that you have the knob!! I just knew one would turn up.

I like Joe's idea. Put them in the kitchen. They really would look cool in there. I think we should hunt down that knob robber and get rid of him!

Jim

Oh no, no, no!!!

Those are the ones you should get rid of. You know they'll
never fit in your design and color scheme. You don't like
Boots soft and supple.... You like 'em hard and coarse!!!
