Regina Roller

Your Regina is missing some parts.

The roller is not for vacuuming under beds. This vacuum was made to also be used with attachments, as a canister. The vacuumer would extend the wheel on the handle, then attach a caster set, on a bar, on the lower vacuum cleaner. The set would be attached to the inlet neck. The Regina would now be ready to roll around the room. The rug nozzle would then be removed and a hose would be attached in its place. Now the Regina can move about; cleaning the furniture, lampshades, etc like a canister vacuum cleaner. When you were finished, you would remove the hose, attach the rug nozzle, then remove the caster set, and lastly rotate the upper wheel parallel to the handle shaft. How's that for a very long and narrow canister vacuum cleaner.

Yeah, yeah, it's a nice vacuum

But I want to see pictures of Unimatic's kitchen!!! Is there a thread with pics of the kitchen somewhere on this site? If so, can you point me to it?

More Dream Machines

Thanks GE Swivel, now the roller makes more sense.

Chad if this is one of your dream vacuum that you've wanted for a long time, just email me your address, consider it yours, I'll drop it off at the UPS store. I thought it was cool, it was only $2 at the estate sale and I'm not attached to it in any way. Making dreams come true is half the fun of this club. I'm an Electrolux boy anyway.

Mike, post 2970 in the Super Forum archives has pictures of my kitchen post re-do.

Thanks Veg

I viewed this kitchen before in another thread. I'm still having trouble connecting all the dots and placing names with threads and stuff.

You did a beautiful job Robert. I covet your Fridge. I have the identical Spartus clock hanging in my bedroom. I love that clock. I have it in a couple different colors but only hung the turquoise one. I took a short break from cleaning the fridge yesterday to hang a different turquoise spartus clock in the laundry room. I love old spartus clocks. I have a bunch. I wish I knew how to fix some of the.

But anyway, great job. Your kitchen looks awesome.

Regina Brush & Beat

Looks like this particular vacuum may still be in production, albeit under a different name. I *knew* it looked familiar, then I remembered where I saw it.

This one is sold for commercial use, although to date I've never yet seen one in the flesh, so I'm thinking it can't be particularly popular here. Most commercial users in the UK stick to canisters and clean air uprights in any case, with Numatic and Sebo leading those fields respectively.

Cheers,

Kirk

Kewl Broom!!!

Nice looking broom there Robert...problem is "Nothing Sucks Like Electrolux"... as the UK advertising of the 80`s said...

Wouldnt be much use with Gladys on full moult!!!

AND Guys n Gals...beware of nice boys baring gifts....

I came to the first convention with one vac ( Kirby Trad)and was presented with a LUX XXX (Pride n Joy) from Robert ...which then started me with the bug....now its 80+ vacs & many laundry apps....lol

Hi Mike, Great picture of your Electrolux. I have never seen an Electrolux floor nozzle like the one you have there. Is it a carpet or floor tool? Would love to see a shot of the front of it. Hope that you are doing great!! Terry

Too cool!

Wow, thanks Kirk, that does bear a striking resemblance to the Brush & Beat, even down to the front-mounted bag and power switch! If they ship worldwide, I'm definitely going to think about it! That would be great if parts were available for the vintage Brush & Beats over there as well!

Hi Austin -

Didn't even come into my head that this could be a source of parts, but yes, they could very well be able to supply bits and pieces that would otherwise be NLA for the Regina. Can't see why they wouldn't ship internationally, particularly if you were to telephone them and make arrangements to pay the shipping costs.

Also check out this baby linked below... I'm itching to give one of these a go. A tad on the large side for pushing around one's lounge maybe, but judging by the description I bet it cleans well!

Cheers,

Kirk

DAMN!!! a 1 bushel size bag???

I could go for one of those too... Jack sheds so much I fill up a Hoover type C bag after 2 full vacuumings of the house...
usually past the line!

That kind of reminds me of some model Clarke vacuums. Both of those last 2. I have a early Clarke upright, a model 500. Would anyone know where to find bags?

Those large sweeper vacs remind me of the "Pro-Flite" models-The Pro Flites are less expensive-and two of their models use the "direct air" design-or fan first-it has a Huge metal fan turned by a large 10A motor-the other end of the motor has a pulley for the roller brush. The vac shop here gets those regularly for repairs.Usually broken belts or torn outer cloth bags. You can use a cloth dump bag on them(optional) or a cloth bag that uses large paper bags-yes like a bushel or more-sort of like a model "M" bag-these can hold up to two bushels. The disturbing thing about the Pro Flites is there is aPLASTIC fan housing around that big metal fan-one time I saw one of those in the junk pile of the vac shop here-there was a big hole in the top of the fan housing-wouldn't want to be the user-whatever it hit could have hit the operator.Scary-used one at that place-was sort of fun-probably would vacuum my driveway!!Too big to use in the house-the smallest vacuums a path 24" wide.Pro Flite also has a clean air model with THREE motors-two motors for suction and one to drive the roller brush.also has a hose and "Tools on board"Imagine housecleaning with that!!

Dog Hair and what I NOW use to combat it........

Hey Jeff,

So there was this one time that I was lost in the north western section of Ann Arbor with my roomates looking for a place on UofM campus where they sell used computers and parts to keep our older stuff going..

When lo an behold we happened on a Human Society, which is where we attempted to turn my car around in. Well the TownCar never made it to reverse again, to get back out of the space that I pulled into. It wanted to..it wanted to show the shiny red (R) but the wand wouldn't move...we was stuck!!!lol

Well the first thing you know we look at all the puppies, and of course I spotted a beautiful brindle Pitt that reminded me of my Lucydog. However I could not justify that kind of animal or the cost to adopt $229.00.

So we checked the regular canine section and of course we went thru all of them, and wasn't all that super impressed by what we were seeing, or ow they were acting and so forth. So on the way back thru (Picture a LONG hallway with cages on either side)...they had apparantly inserted another animal into an empty kennel...becasue...there he was in his golden labrador splendor, mixed with we could tell a dab or so of beagle...our new dog Duke.

He just floored all of us, and especially my roomate Pax who was going in now halvsies with me to get the newest member of the house. And now that he's home, I have found that he sheds like crazy also.

Funny side story, so there was this one time a DAY before when a lady traded in a Royal PowerTank Canister Cleaner Model 4650. In beautiful condition , but the powerhead was shot. I replaced the powerhead almost immediatly along with the wand assy, and walked out of work with a brand new Royal basically for about $80.00 which was my cost of parts. She ended up buying a much lighter Miele Red Star from me.

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL...so about an hour before leaving work, another lady traded in, for a new Royal PowerCast a Hoover Convertible Deluxe model 1076. NOT ONLY was it in better condition than the Royal, but it had JUST been serviced, and still had the original bag and cord. Guess where both of them are now.....my utility room for my NEW arsenal.

The Eureka Empress II , which was the vacuum that I bought down here is in the basement waiting to be transported back to Lansing to the hold where all of my oldies are as of now. It most likely just wouldn't have been able to hold out with all the hair and mess that will be thrown at the newer Royal, let alone the cast iron Hoover Convertible.

Anyway that's all for now

Chad

Robert- That is a super nice offer. Thank you SOOOOO much. I will get your email and send you my address in toto...

Congrats on the puppy Chad!

They are so much fun!
My Jack sheds alot, but I wouldn't give him up for anything, I always have a testing ground for vacuums!
