Been trying to find these in stores and am coming up empty-handed. Plenty available online, but I want it nowwwwwwww......!

Whilst searching, found this. It could actually have been a local commercial, as we had Woodward & Lothrop here in Baltimore.

Oh, and it just hit 100 degrees here.

Those kids were having a perfectly wonderful time, enjoying their slushes, then that rather manic looking guy had to barge in on their fun....

We had something like this. If memory serves, the Phillips station gave them out with a tank of gas or something.

You can get a pretty good approximation of these at Macy's, at least out here in Seattle.

I've never seen these mugs before. Interesting.

Our summer treats were Tupperware popsicles. Of course mom brewed packet Kool-Aid so she could use much less sugar than the directions called for. Somehow the finished frozen pop was such that you could suck out most of the color, flavor, and sweetness, and be left with a plain ice pop still on the stick. Eventually she realized that store-bought pops were tastier, had a more pleasant consistency, and were not an extravagance.

I had a red one - it was used only a few times and the novelty wore off. We did use the Tupperware popsicle maker constantly though. Reduce the amount of the sugar just a bit to make the flavor a little more tart...

Did anyone else have the clear Kool-Aid pitcher in the shape of their smiley-faced charachter - the pitcher guy? I did and wish I'd kept it - probably worth a fortune now!

Remember, VD is for everybody!:

HA !

Gansky you can still get a koolaid pitcher and mugs.....or at least you could about ten years ago. A friend had got one for her son. I saved up my packs and ordered one also. It is stored away in a cabinet. It was not the white frosty color, it is RED.

V.D.

My initials my whole life until I got married recently. Why do parents not think of these things???

I did have one of those slushy mugs, I seem to remember it wasn't quite as much fun as that commercial made it out to be.

I don't remember those, I do remember the tubberware popsicle makers though.

86 degrees here today, clear blue skies and low humidity, lows tonight in the low 60's, perfect mid-summer weather. We had a fabulous thunderstorm yesterday, it looked like midnight at noon downtown, I love that!

I don't know if they even made those things when I was a kid. It looks like I missed out.

I definitely remember the Tupperware popsicle makers as well as the Kool-Aid pitcher with matching cups.

BTW, it's about 116 out here, but we're supposed to cool down to 108.
