Was looking through some old photos and found this picture of my grandmothers kitchen when it was freshly remodeled in late 1965 or early 1966.
I'm sure you'll all notice the TOL GE dishwasher in avocado. Being GE dealers there is also a matching SxS fridge and 24" wall oven with P*7 that aren't pictured.
The kitchenaid coffee mill is proudly displayed on the counter too

That "plank" style cabinet door must have been pretty popular in the mid 60's. The house across the street has those, and they were installed when they added on a new kitchen, laundry and bath in '65. There's are cherry, made by Kemper.

I'd say the plank style cabinets were very popular, they are common here. After all the Early American look was in. The cabinets, countertops, dishwasher, and Tell City dinette are still there.

Lawrence,
I'm not sure about the controls in the vent hood, but being an all GE kitchen sporting their newest color I wouldn't be surprised if that's where the controls were.

By time I was born the cooktop was an early GE smooth top and the range hood was an early GE space maker.
