Lady kenmore in green model Number

Wow you guys are the greatest The model number on the machine is S6804901A00 i would venture to say that it was made in 1968 !! I took the advise of you guys on the veri-flex agitator and it works just as you guys said it would.It was a little stuck so i reached up under the small Agitator and found a couple of handfuls of long knoted threads from a rug i had to cut them out with a knife thats how inpacted they were. The machine works great loads of fun playing with all the button options and the panel light flickers so i need a new tube wish i could find a matching dryer but i think washers are harder to come by so the search goes on !!!

Re: "S" Model:

Hey! John, seeing the "S" in front of the Model Numbers, if I'm correct indicates that this is a Suds Return Washer. Does your Lady-K have 2-Drain Hoses on it? If I'm correct, in the 2nd Pix you Posted on the longer Normal/Cottens & Linens Cycle area, right at the beginning of the Cycle it says "Suds" or "Suds Return" am I correct? If I am, then it is a Suds Return Washer.

I'm surprised that no one else noticed this right away, when you Posted the Model Number. It is a 1968 Model Year, I bought the same Matching Washer and Dryer in Coppertone for my Parent's. When I first looked at them, the Dryer had only an all Automatic/Moisture Sensor Drying, with degrees of Dryness from Damp to Dry. When I was ready to order the Set, they had a newer updated Model Dryer on the Floor, that had Automatic and Timed Drying and the 2-1/2 hour Wrinkle Guard feature as well. Neither machine ever really had any problems for quite a while, but later on, the Timer started acting up and had to be replaced and the Belts were replaced a few times as well. After the original Timer in the Washer went out, the replacement Timers weren't quite as good as the original Timer, until after about 4-Timers installed, the last one ended up being almost like the original Timer, quality wise.

Enjoy your Lady-K Washer, treat her great and she will give you plenty of years of great performance and clean Laundry.

Peace and Fun Lady-K Laundry Times, Steve

Vintage of Late 1960's Avacodo Lady Kenmore Washer.....

"Scott55405":

Hey Scott, I haven't heard from you in a long time. So, you're not in Minnenapolis anymore????

But anyway, the washer that I saw in the pictures in this thread is a 1968-69 Lady Kenmore. That's the one that has the long push buttons on it (not my cup of tea....... I prefer the buttons on the 1966-67 and the 1969-75 Ladys better) and that was "feminely engineered" according to Sears at the time.

So tell me, how is it out there in Los Angeles??????

"Harvestgold":

What a find??? But I cannot help to think is that soil on the control panel???? Or is that rust????

If it turns out to be rust, how are you going to remove it from the control panel????

As far as I can see, only the control ring on the Vari-Flex agitator needs to be clean, but hopefully, the tubs are in great shape.

Enjoy your new Lady........

Hi Charles, Los Angeles is truly wonderful. I've been here since Sept. 2005. We're in a bit of a cold snap right now that's kind of working my last nerve, but it'll be warm again soon. I love it here! My move was largely due to climate considerations, but I love my place and job here, and being so close (2 mi) to the ocean.

Kenmore S washer

Hey steve thanks for the info on the lady kenmore there isn`t a 2nd drain hose on the machine and there is NO suds return tab switch on the front control panel so i don`t know what the S is for on the model number plate
