Older Maytag Dependable Care: What a find.

All if needed was a pump, everything good to go. LOVE these washers, built like a tank and very reliable. This is a 1995 model. It works great after the pump replacement.

If Maytag didn’t start making Amanatags and Norgetags they would probably stay in business. The reason why whirlpool acquired Maytag was actually because the brand was going out of business.

These are by far my favorite machines, better than the direct drives, the old Whirlpool belt drives, Filter Flos, and Speed Queens combined.

My favorite Maytag washer was the A806 my then wife and I bought in the early 70's. I liked the 806 with its lighted panel and ability to select separate wash and spin speeds. Woolens and other delicate but heavy-when-wet items got a gentle wash with a fast spin. She ended up with the matching set and it gave her nearly 20 years of service with only a few repairs.
