Hello everybody i should tell you that i am a product salesmen for white goods, i have been in the buisness first at a secound hand reconditioned appliances and b stock machines. Then i moved up to a high end store in philadelphia which i no longer work at for six years and i thought it was the greatest to be apart and exclusive company and learn to be more effciant and a better product salesmen which i did learn, but came at a cost the cost of homophobia & racism i wound;nt put up with it anymore. So what was great about the two places ofcorse is all of the machines you are surrounded by . Everyday are delivery guys would bring back machines they had a pretty large backyard with goods i thought of u guys everyday because there was always some kind of washer u could save to many to mention and to many i wanted for myself but could not save them because of weird circumstances. This is not and easy hobbie lol. Anyway got a little somein somein and one is pretty darn nice the porclen top is mint, the action is ment, the agitator is ment, just the body needs work and the hot water line needs work and the perm press cycle gets stuck im almost ready for restorations with the help from the group. And the secound machine needs a paint job and the basket could use some cleaning, what can i use to make it shine. And it has a small leak underneath put everything else is great. HELP! your suggestions please thanks Darren k P.S. i'm in the new basement needs some paint its ulgy down there but got good lighting excuse it pleaes yaa!

Looks great! These Rollermatics are showing up as of late...
Too bad we cannot find more Frigidaires(and other machines) from the 1950's...

I'm sure people here can help direct you with how to restore your 1-18.

Yes I agree, it is fact that racism and homophobia are both alive and well here in the USA.

interior shot ment jet cone agtator no chips i have another 1-18 at my brothers house it is yello with a window lid i want to sell it to the group not much but i want to change the top with window or i should just keep the solid lid for asthetic resons?

aldspin There was a laundomat around the corener from me when growing up, the had G.E. washers in late sixtes in turqouis i use to love to see all of the filter flow filters sitting on the lids all in a row the had the ge crest the long ones with a star at the end. And a manual frount load machine it had a sliding table which led to the extracter for 25 cent. They closed down in the eighties and thats how the crest of the spiner I would use it alot.

Hi, nice Pics and nice of you to post them, I am always so envious of you guys with basements. Was the Tag wringer in your family? who ever had it, must of used the right soaps or detergents, it is not dull in appearance, it is shiney. Thanks again for sharing the pics. alr2903

Porcelain yellowing? It could just be second hand smoke or that yellow film you get when you have a gas stove in the kitchen. I'd try rubbing it with one of those Mr. Clean Magic Erasers and see what happens. I love Mr Clean Magic Erasers, they're the best thing since sliced bread, well maybe not, but they're good. LOL The other product that I find works really good is VIM kitchen cleanser, the liquid/cream kind, not the powder.

good job. maintaining this hobby can be cumbersome and bulky. But fun is fun and to each their own definition.
Collecting appliances doesn't hurt anyone.
And we are all acting as catalogs for history.
That is a good thing.

We're each a museum unto our selves and collectively, it would be interesting to note the extent of our collecting.

Everything from advertisements, parts, all types of major appliances, even some commercial items, and other misc home appliances like coffee makers, vacuums, and typewriters.
Awesome.

Hi Darren wow great pictures, thank you so much for sharing your collection with us.

Your 1/18 Frigidaire looks just mint, and the tub is so nice and shiny. You say there is a leak, can you take a picture of where it is leaking from, maybe between all of us we can help.
