At least----

The (would be) seller is honest about the thing's condition, if wildly optimistic about its price. I give him/her credit for honesty, which is not something always found on the bay!

Wimps! What's a little dirt?

Come on guys, where's that restoration spirit?  Surely you must recognize a diamond in the rough!  I've seen so many before and after photos of appliances you have rescued from a worse state and given them a new lease on life.  Can't you hear that lonely, neglected waffle iron crying out for someone to take it home and give it a spa-treatment? Ok, well, reconstructive surgery?

Presentation is everything

I don't make food with my washing machines.

Although I did have a friend whose mother used her mini-basket as a salad spinner. True story. As she arrived at the dinner table with the tossed salad she made the mistake of telling us, proudly, that she had just dried the romaine in the mini basket before we arrived. Being a closet appliance enthusiast I was delighted, and then, as I thought about it, skeeved, although I thought she was wonderfully clever if not a little daft for letting everybody know. Didn't really think it was appropriate to ask if she used a lot of Clorox in her laundry.

The salad course just wasn't popular that evening.

I wonder if Thor owners had this problem.

Jon, that poor thing must have been a beauty when it was new.  I have a feeling that a good cleaning with Dawn Power Dissolver would do wonders.

Not So Much

There are many better options for wafflers clean or dirty.  The grids are not very deep and the heat not even on the square models, but then it is teflon and not stick.

Why!!!

would someone go to the trouble of making a sign, finding a black felt pen... instead of just cleaning it before taking the picture! I DONT GET IT

DIRTY Waffle Iron...

I Actually have this very same Waffle Iron (It belong to my Grandparents) It will get EXTREMELY HOT! it's a real science on how to make waffles with it, but once mastered it, it works very well

The washer looks very much like one I have (it could be--just that the W/L settings are slightly different)...

As for the 'iron, my electric griddle has years of wear from grease on it, too, but I'd mostly washed it in the dishwasher, when washing it by hand couldn't raise the cleanliness above the level that waffle-maker is in...

DRIRTY WAFFLE MAKER

IT is crazy that they are trying to sell it in that condition, but it is easy to clean. Just clean by running the grids through a self cleaning oven and rinse and recondition them. Cast aluminum grids should not be run through a dishwasher. That waffle maker may clean up nicely, but it would be better at a yard sale for less than $5.
