i get pepsi throwback and the mountain dew version,also sometimes get the mexicoke
too-much better than the HFCS coke,but usually still not quite like the '85-and
earlier real coke-though once at a mexican restaurant they served up some coke
that took me back in time to 1985-i got several refills!! good stuff.
IIRC,basicly all the "new"coke was basicly just HFCS coke...Though coke has used
mostly HFCS since mid-'85,seems coke has been especially bad the last 2 years-
i have pretty much quit drinking it.

For you soda drinkers, here is a link to an article about a Sun-Drop bottler in Shawano, WI, and Seymour Beverages of Seymour, WI.  Twig's Beverages is the only Sun-Drop bottler left in the US that still uses glass bottles.  Seymour Beverages in Seymour, WI is a Twig's Sun-Drop distributor, and bottles soda under its own name as well.  Their big seller is 7oz. bottles, but they also bottle 10, 12, and 16oz. sizes as well.

 

Even though the linked article is almost 4 years old, it is still relevant today.

 

This reminds me, I have 4 cases of Sun-Drop empties, and 4 cases of Seymour empties that I need to return for refills.

speaking of color

Not only did soap bars used to come in a variety of colors, but remember when you could buy Kleenex and toilet paper that could match your bathroom?

The last time I can remember buying colored toilet paper was back about 1993 or so, when I bought green toilet paper.

Can you buy cars with color matched interiors anymore?? Remember when you bought a blue interior, for your car, you got blue carpet, blue seats, blue dash, blue door trim and even a blue steering wheel.

Does any car have anything other than a black steering wheel anymore?

I guess it makes it cheaper and easier when the car comes down the assembly line just to slap a black steering wheel on it. Likewise can you get color interiors anymore (haven't bought a new car in many years). It seems likes it hard to get interior colors in anything other than depressing "charcoal" or a beige/brown.

Has anyone noticed it's hard to find pinch-pleated drapes and traverse rods? Seems most drapes and curtains now are just scrunched on a rod and you have to tug them over the rod to open and close them. It's like we traveled back in time to the 18th century.

It seems technology should increase, not decrease with time, doesn't it?

Some solutions

If you miss the taste of old Cherrios, go to Trader Joe's and buy "Joe's O's"

If you miss the taste of old Fig Newtons, go to Aldi's and buy their knock-off version of them.

If you want really tasty soda pop, do what Laundress said, but you can also find great local sodas such as Foxon Park here in Connecticut (wonderful Birch Beer and the best Quinine Water I've found (yes, better than "Q")

If you want old Tide, Cheer and other, go to Latin American markets and buy their stuff. Not exactly the same, but close

If you miss old Dash, go to a British Goods market and buy low suds Ariel

If you miss old fresh Lamb, as I do, they way it was butchered in the Sixties, move to somewhere in the United Kingdom or Saudi Arabia.

 

Market analysts pay attention to your choices (when you actually HAVE a choice)
