Don (jetaction) and I drove up to Geoff’s (geoffdelp) house in Foley which is about 75 minutes north of downtown Minneapolis on Saturday to take part in his 1964 Maytag’s maiden wash load! We all had such a nice time and Geoff has a beautiful home. His collection of wringer washers is just incredible, each one is in more mint condition that then next.
I took the video camera so we could film the maiden wash. To say Geoff's brand new Maytag A700S is BEAUTFUL is a HUGE understatement. It is just amazing to see a vintage washer that’s never been used before, and the smells are incredible, like it is right out of the factory!
Thanks again Geoff, I’m looking forward to coming up again soon.
Here are the videos:
Trip to Foley, Part I highlights the Maytag and its very first wash load with clothes!
Trip to Foley, Part II Geoff demonstrates the Suds-Return, then gives us a tour of his wringer washers. At the end both Don and Geoff make me use a very strange clothes dryer, for the life of me I could not figure out how to turn it on!
