Hello guys! I was wondering how hot your oven can be set! ...as you might remember we had a new one installed this autumn. I was surprised at first as it is the first one I've seen that can reach more than the usual 240-250°C (482 °F). After searching more I've found a couple of models from Miele that can do that but no more.
On standard programmes it gets up to 280°C (536°F) and on fan assisted ones and grilling it is up to 300 °C (572°F).
Mind that this is during normal cooking and not pyro-cleaning (this model has continuous cleaning liners).

So, with 30 and 50 amps service available, what are the American ovens ratings? Do they normally get more hot on the maximum setting that the standard European one (250°C) or are they similar? And on Australia and Asia?

Attached you see a picture of the console display showing "statico ventilato" (cold air forced convection) function on at 280°C and 14 minutes before self shut off.

Temperature

is not primarily a function of power rating, in fact, most ovens could run very well on a standard 15amp 120V single phase circuit.

It's the heating elements in the hob which really draw the current.

Most American ranges will permit up to around 500-550F in the vintage era.

Self-cleaning ovens here in the U.S. get up to 800-900F, some even higher. Most non self-cleaning ovens are limited to 500-550F.

A friend of ours bypassed the door lock on his oven and uses a partial self-clean cycle to cook pizzas.
