I was looking through a flyer or magazine yesterday and saw an ad for oxyclean for the dishwasher. Never saw this before. I guess from the ad it states you add it along with the dishwasher detergent. I am not sure if this is a powder or a liguid or a gel. Will have to check today while I am out doing grocery shopping to see if it is in the detergent isle yet. Has anyone else seen or tried this?

It works

I use it in the pre wash cup, it does not suds up , and it I think it significantly improves the results . I never pre rinse and run one load per week

Most All DW Detergents

That do not contain chlorine based bleaches contain oxygen bleach. Usually sodium percarbonate with or without activators.

Being as that may if one is going to add extra oxygen bleach to the DW there are better choices than Oxiclean. Unless they've changed formulas OC products are mostly sodium carbonate (washing soda) by weight with lesser amounts of sodium percarbonate. To an extent washing soda does increase the performance of oxygen bleaches there usually is more than enough in whatever powdered laundry or dishwasher detergent one is using. Even if an oxygen bleach formula does contain sodium carbonate the ratio should be much less than the nearly or over 50% of the stuff Oxiclean products use.

Hint: when purchashing "Oxi" products and the package feels heavy versus size the formula likely contains quite allot of washing soda.
