Tom:
Some things I find inoffensive:
- The aforementioned Oxydol Original powder, of course
- OxyClean
- Cuddle Soft Mountain Fresh Fabric Softener (Huish)
- Ajax Lemon dish detergent
I tend to be pretty old-school in my product choices anyway. I still use Colgate toothpaste, Listerine, Palmolive soap, Pine-Sol, Ajax cleanser, Bon Ami, Cameo stainless cleaner, Brillo pads, sudsy ammonia, chlorine bleach and Windex. You will never see pump soap, body wash, or those #!@*! "disinfecting" wipes in my house. My counters get washed down with soap and hot water, and if meat or poultry has been around them, some bleach. Sink and faucet get the same treatment. I defy a germ to survive that.
The one relatively recent invention I like and use is Scrub Free tub and tile cleaner. The stuff is amazing, dissolving the soap crud without scratching. It even has the ability to clean the non-skid texture found in most of today's tubs. To do that, you need to use a scrub brush on the texture, but WOW how it cleans. Much better than the old days, when Comet would knock the gloss off a new tub within a year, and make it like sandpaper within five years. Josephine the Plumber has much to answer for.
