P & G rep just a left a little while ago, Leaving 4 cases of Liquid Pride.. It looks like Tide it smells like Tide and works just like Tide.. He tells me it is . But named for the institutional market to hit Ecolab. IT is only 7.99 a gallon. More name games from the wonderful guys at P&G all in the name of the dollar!

I kind of like the label. All it needs is a rainbow flag and a picture of Robert smiling and pointing to his Unimatic. :-)

The rep was not well

When I told him I had heard of Gay Pride so this must be Gay Tide..

It is label as Institutional use only. That is most likely why they did not jazz up the bottle.. Use is If they can sell it to us @ 7.99 per gallon think what the profit is on the regular store bottles..

Wow, that is one tacky P&G lable and name for a product, especially after they (re)launched commercial Tide and Downy for OPL laundries a year or 2 ago.

Commercial machines tend to run more aggressive with more water than even coin-op versions of the same machines. Will be very interesting to see how this would suds up in commercial applications.

Maybe this is a test product for the new, improved Tide HE with nary a bubble and drinkable rinse water... ;)

It is NO test product

It is the same old liquid Tide looks smells ect. just another P& G scam.. In a few mons.. they will have a good user base and little by little have price increase until it is around 12 or 14 a gallon Just their style. I dont use very much of their products and dont like their pushy reps. There is NOT anything they will not do to get a years signed contract.

Odd

The P&G professional site mentions nothing about Pride. All their other products have professionally designed packaging. I've also never seen that logo on any PG product--what is that, a horse?
Does the bottle actually say Procter & Gamble on it?

veg

A lot of the products they sell thru places like Sysco

And White Swan and other paper and food service distibutions are NOt listed on the site. They are very good at making them up at will. Same product but different names in different areas of the country. reps tell me that it is done widely. It a lot like private label goods

Talk about profits per bottle....

Charlotte was in the last region of the country that P&G converted to 2x consumer detergents, which happened in the April/June time frame. Harris Teeter, one of our premier grocery stores which is based in the Charlotte area, progressively put all the P&G 1x detergents on clearance whereas some of the other stores just let them sell until gone. When they got to the Gain and Cheer, they had been in clearance mode on the Tide 64oz bottles for a week or two, and they got very aggressive - the Cheer 80oz bottles and Gain 100oz were priced at $1.94 and $1.44 each!!! I could hardly believe it, that was more than a $4 savings per bottle.

Needless to say, I have a lot of Cheer and Gain, and though I doubt HT made much money on the stuff, this may give an indication of how much profit there is per bottle.
