Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

I'd say it's quite possible that pine oil is pretty good at dealing with mildew as it probably contains substances from the pine tree that prevent the growth of fungus.

Live trees are very good at keeping all sorts of fungi and lichens under control.

Cannot Abide The Smell of Pine-Sol Type Products

*LOL*

But being as that may anyone seeking to use such for disinfection purposes should look for EPA registered products. The number by law must be printed on the label somewhere and is the only way one can be sure of obtaining a product that will do the job. Many pine products only contain enough oils for scent purposes, and therefore will do nothing in terms of cleaning germs, well nothing more than what can be had by cleaning anyway.

Launderess

I don't see the need to use a disinfectant unless there's a contagious illness in the house. Regular ole products work just fine and as a matter of fact Bon Ami does a splendid job of cleaning and deodorizing without harshness, but I'm getting off the subject. I'm with you. A person looking to disinfect needs to look for the EPA registered products.
