Well final order arrived today of seals and such for the Whirlpool BD portable, and now have scheduled a service call for later this week. Indeed now have some parts that are surplus to requirements as one vendor threw in extra bits to my order.
A week or so ago, original service company (one that came out and examined the machine for cause of leak), telephoned to say while they were willing to do the work, they could not locate parts. Told them parts could be found and one would get them and call back.
So here's me with all this: seals, tub seals, spin tube seals, tub nut seals replacement kits, bolts, nuts, tub gasket seals, and more seals. All this added to several belts and pump one already had for this unit.
Did some reasearch and found that unlike say Maytag units, one does not have to replace the bearings when changing/repairing tub gasket leaks, which is pretty good since bearings are NLA and cannot be had for love nor money.
Now only hope the unit will behave and let the man work on it without "falling to pieces". By this mainly that the tubs will come apart and reseat without damage.
Wish me luck!
