In a continuing effort to A: Appease Hubby and B: Make room for some new projects, I wanted to offer up some parts mixers from my collection to anyone here who might be interested.

First up: a very sad Dormeyer Model 4400 'Silver Star'. The handle is gone, there are no beaters, bowls, or turntable; the bakelite stand is broken. The motor still works perfectly, has the original cord and plug, and the chrome casing is in good shape. The chrome support arm is in good shape also.

Lot 2: Three GE 'M' series mixers (late 50s to mid 60s); all have the 'speed control from hell' - they run at high speed only due to governor failure; there is one complete stand with bowl turntable, and there are three sets of original GE beaters in good condition. The speed guides (12 speeds) are all good.

That's all for the moment - please email if interested. They are yours for the cost of shipping (or come by in person - you will get to see the all-turquoise kitchen up close!).

Loose Fan

I have serviced several of this model that all ran on high. There are three small hooks on the fan that press against a rubber cup that provides the governor control. If the fan comes loose from the armature it slides backward releasing the governor drive. Its an easy fix if you're lucky enough to have this be the problem.

Hmmm... I have tried adjusting those three hooks with no success. I guess I am all thumbs if it's not a dishwasher pump! Oh, wait, I can mess those up pretty good, too... LOL
