So Sad

I am afraid I never knew him but as always when these things happen reading the tributes just makes me realise how popular and loved he was.

I wish him well where ever he is

This is hitting me really hard.

I am more than extremely saddened by this news.   I have not been able to read more than a couple lines of any post in this thread without bringing SO many tears to my eyes that I can no longer see.

I was so VERY honored that Kelly not only came down to attend my big spring wash-in last year, but he COMPLETELY moved into and took over my kitchen, making every meal during his stay here, in spite of my insisting otherwise.   I was truly in awe of not only his endless energy, ability, enthusiasm and insight into SO many thing, but also his willingness to give, give, give and not only NOT ask for anything in return, but also not accept anything in return other than a hug, a kiss and a "Thank you".

Kelly, you were a beautiful flower standing proud and tall in a large field of weeds.   You had a much greater impact on my life than I was able to express to you, but I'm pretty sure you were able to sense that.

I will miss you greatly my friend.   Rest peacefully.

Kevin

Unfortunately..

I wasn't, and still haven't been a long enough member of this forum, to really meet or get to know many people around here, but it deeply saddens me to see the loss of someone so creative, and inspiring.

Wherever you are Kelly, I do hope that your in a better place, and enjoying yourself. My thoughts & prayers go out to his Family, and Friends.

I am so saddened by this news. I thought/was hoping things were getting better.
I am glad he got to make his last trip on earth to see his loved ones before preparing for his long journey into our Father's arms.

As I posted in the As The Tub Turns thread I'm going to use one of the Sunbeam Mixmasters that I acquired from him earlier this summer in his honor/memory.  Eternal rest grant unto him oh God!

Thanks for sharing the news...but such sad news

I was saddened to log into the site today to read this news...I can't say anything that hasn't already been said. Drew, your posting pretty much summed up what I knew about Kelly. I had the pleasure of meeting him at the Long Beach Wash-in at Kevin's in April 2012, and I know my cousin Jill really enjoyed visiting with him in the kitchen as much as I did, while he so "effortlessly" prepared those big meals for the crowd.

Really makes one remember to appreciate what a wonderful group of people we have come to meet through this club!

So sorry to hear news like that. I hope he didn't suffer for a long time because of illness.

Rest In Peace Kelly

My Condolences to Kelly's Family

I just want to say what a pleasure it was to meet Kelly at Kevin's wash-in last year. I'm both stunned and saddened that we lost such a wonderful man. He bravely fought the cancer beast, and his memory will live on in my heart. God rest his soul. You will be missed, Kelly.

This is unspeakably sad. While I didn't know him personally, my impression is one of a true gentleman in every sense of the word. My sympathies go out to all his family and friends. Reading of his triumphs and challenges reminds me of a passage I learned years ago in Catholic school - I don't recall the source but it went something like this ..."Read, write, sing, sigh... bear your crosses manfully". And I believe he did just that and so much, much more.

Celebrate!

But why?
Because he lived a life full of love and compassion when he knew his life being cut short.
When you see that a person who takes a little time and pray for others when they need it more, it shows us how much he loved us so!
I have so much to be thankful for, digital friendship and knowing how he showed us grace and mercy in the mist of his sickness!
Kelly battle been up and down and he fought a long and hard fight and his spirit will live on on these pages and we must celebrate that he no longer in pain but resting in the arms of the Lord.

To the family and friends, my condolences to you all.

Kevin--  I grinned from ear-to-ear at your description of Kelly taking over the kitchen while at your wash-in.  I'm that guy in my circle of friends, but had I been present that weekend, I'd have been relegated, at best, to the peel-and-chop station.  Kelly was a force of nature in the kitchen---his or anyone else's, LOL.

To Kelly's family and friends both at aw.org, and elsewhere I give my heartfelt condolences. I never had the chance to meet Kelly, but always enjoyed his posts. From what I read here, he has touched so many of your lives, and you all are blessed by having experienced him. Kelly rest in peace, and may God bless you.

James

Very sad to read of this.

I have seen several photos of Kelly's cakes on this website and they always look amazing. A lot of care and attention clearly goes in to them. I have never met him but I have certainly admired his handiwork.

My boss, a really wonderful lady and good friend, passed away very unexpectedly almost a month ago. I found her when I went to work. It was a huge shock.

I was further saddened when I read of Kelly passing away. What a sad month!

My condolances to everyone here who knew Kelly.
