Seems Unilever's sneekily reformulated Persil colourcare

It now contains : Protease, Amylase and Cellulase has replaced lipase!
Ariel Colour and Style : Glycosidase, Cellulase, Protease - (They've added cellulase too! it wasn't in the formula until New Improved stuck on the pack)

Cellulase and Co.

Hi MRX,
you need cellulase for the colour-and-style-effect! Glycoidase is the same as Amylase (amylum = starch, glycos = sugar/sweet, '-ase' = '-down-breaker') as this is carbon-hydrate diluting stuff. Starch is a complex sugar molecule and is going to be broken down into di-saccharides or mono-saccharides (sugar or fructose) by these enzymes which are, as everybody knows, water soluble.
Lipase isn't so necessary as a breaking-up of fat molecules into fat-acides and glycerine (both water soluble) can be dodged by the fact that the tensides in a detergent do a very good fat loosing job in the wash-water. It might be helpful in situations where a bigger amount of - foaming - tensides must be totally avoided like in dish-washers and where also bigger amounts of fat have to be washed away.
And protease...well that's the stuff that breaks up these little white protein stains in men's underwear into water soluble amino acids...lol

Persil Standard Bio also contains lipase which might explain why it can get away with being so low foaming. I generally find Unilever Persil just creates almost zero foam.

Ariel can be a little over-sudsy

Is this for the powder?

I noticed the new look Persil Colour gel tablets now have what seems to be the ingredients list for bio tablets on the packs as it says they have Oxygen Bleach and Brighteners in them. Whoops!!

I know

I use Persil colourcare tabs for use in the Speed queen frontloader washing machines at university, but how can they be colourcare if they have brightners and bleach in them lol??
