Hotpoint fans out there! Who thinks I should create a petition to send to Indesit/Merloni to BRING BACK THE OLD HOTPOINT STYLE?

And I mean

Door
Dial
Option Buttons
Drum
Draw

And the old Distribution Drains?

problem

that would be absolutely amazing, but will never happen. as people who arent washer fans will hate these machines with a passion. they are not modern quiet or have a big load. and it would be uneconomical for indesit to do this, as the tat they make is with very cheap parts, and spending all this money on making excellent machines would bring it up to modern bosch standards. and they simply would not be able to afford it. but if you do, then i will have the first order lol.

As much as I wish this would happen, I hate to say that I know it never will. Hotpoint don't exist anymore - at least not as we knew them. The problem with bringing back an old washer design, is that we've moved on since then in terms of energy efficiency, drum capacity and style. Nobody is going to want to buy a machine brand new that looks 30 years old and drains the hot water. Energy prices are currently higher than ever - its no longer affordable to run a hot and cold fill machine. I'm on metres for gas and electric and I certainly wouldn't want to. Plus, why would a working mother of 3,choose to buy a washing machine with a 4.5kg capacity when she can get 9 or 10kg machines? You have to remember that your average washer buying public don't care about the same things we do - they just want something that will make their clothes tumble around in water and then spin it out. So SA much as I would like this to happen, it won't.

Hotpoints:

I'm not talking about making them Hot and Cold fill and Small drums, I mean big drums, 7, 8 and 9kg and so on but the old style. Make it more modern but more energy effeciant.

So what you really want is a modern Hotpoint in the body of an old one? Seems a little pointless and I don't think they'd sell any better either as they wouldn't look modern enough to your average washer buyer

But Hotpoint don't exist anymore. Not properly. And what one person considers to be the true "hotpoint look" might not be the same as someone else's view. Aside from us enthusiasts, I wouldn't see a market at all for a revival of the old look. Regardless of that, I think Hotpoint are currently the UK 's biggest seller, so a petition really wouldn't make any difference. It's sales that matter to these big companies.

bring back hotpoint

i love the idea but ill admit, the hotpoint brand is not what it used to be and never will be in my view, and if you bring new hotpoints and style them like 18/95's they might look nice but they will never be as good as the originals!

Hotpoint Anni

I see your point I honestly do but they can bring some new editions out as they all just look the same and dont stand out like they used to. I'm fully aware of the market and Indesit etc. And Yes I really would like it if they used some of the older features like the Instant Distribution, And the old facias bu not plastic and flimsy but solid!

They could bring out a Series called

HOTPOINT SUPER SILENT De Luxe
HOTPOINT LIBERATER AQUARIUS WMFL
HOTPOINT SUPERELECTRONIC ULTIMA 1600!

Little things like that!
