Ouchie! Dark colors are a little harder to read for me. The site is mostly easy-on-the-eyes pastels. I vote for a pale lavender! Something like the "FIND" button below...

Needs to be lighter. How about CCAAEE. One was almost a hot pink.
OK Larry's is too dark (image below), lets see who's next I guess its Hydralique whose has chosen a delightful shade of #00CCDD.

Like Kevin I didn't realize it was for the larger background, and agree something lighter would be easier to read. Another color I like is 66AACC, which looks close to Whirlpool Sapphire Blue.
The difficulty with this is that each of us are looking at the colors on different equipment. Also, each color is influenced by those surrounding it. I cut a small square in a piece of white paper so I could view each alone.

I seldom use the "Latest Posts/My Posts" feature because my color vision is also impaired. (as is Countryguy's) All those pastel streaks are meaningless. The new trumpet shaped thing that replaced Discuss-O-Mat at the top of the forum pages appears to me thus: in the center is a yellow area. To the right of that is the same unidentifiable color out to the point. Experience has told me it's red or green. (maybe both of them) To the left is, maybe, blue and then pink at the far left. How'd I do?

My 2 cents
we should stick with vintage as well as todays appliance colors......one post should stay gray, to represent Stainless Steel......
and we have
harvest gold yellow
pink
turquoise
green represents avocado
and of course brown
so what colors of the appliance wheel are we missing?

My vote? 3377AA with a White type face if you are only talking about the button, not the whole header. I'd like to see a little color in the arrows behind "Latest Posts" and "My Posts". For me White type on a darker background seems to catch the eye a little quicker than black on another color.
Perhaps something lighter like a light orange.

I think the softer colors work much better than the stronger ones. I think the contrast with the other colors shouldn't be too big.

Brighter than the original gray but not pastel like the other forums since Latest and My Posts aren't forums but just different ways of displaying the index. By the way, I want to keep Latest Posts and My Posts pages both the same color.

Matt's #3377AA, too dark. The text is generated from the same code in all the forums so if I want to make just the typeface for My and Latest Posts, it would take changing the code.
