Frist Wash-In

Gee thanks for posting these pictures Jon I have the originals and have been threatening to blackmail Robert with a few of those for years LOL I guess I will have to think of other ways to fund my retirement now.

Yes those were good times out on the Cape, Michael was my first partner of almost 21 years, I talked to him yesterday and he is enjoying retirement. About 6 months ago I pulled out this huge box of pictures and Michael spent weeks going through them and digitizing them. I think that I have a few of you from this time period that could show up here, LOL.

Ugh those pictures lol, I don't think I've ever seen them.  I have posted the ones I have in another thread about our history, oh how I remember that wash in well.  My Boyfriend at the time Stephen and I figured if we got to Boston and Jon Charles was some sort of crazy freak we'd simply find a hotel, well we decided to stay after all!  He seemed like a safe freak :-)

So this is how we started? Well, I'll be snoogered.

Robert went to the Cape to buy some washers from a guy he didn't know, answering an ad or something, the guy was Jon Charles, and thus the seed of Automatic washer was planted.

This is as cool as the Immaculate Conception--maybe even cooler!

Hoooooooooo lee Feeeceees! Amazing.

Oh, wow,  and to think at about that time, Hubby and I had just bought our second country home and were already arguing about my 1978 Kenmore Dishwasher and 1951 Hotpoint wringer washer (long gone, alas) being there.... LOL

Thanks for sharing these photos, Jon!!

No Actually Mikey

Robert had found us on the early washer site over at Yahoo that Jeff set up and is still running. We talked on the phone and I talked him into coming out. He and Stephen Whatshisname made hotel reservations as they were scared we might be weird!Well they were right about that, but when they got here they threw in the towel, cancelled the reservation and stayed with me.

Poor little Prairie Deers!

Cal is working on a history of the club for us.

That Yahoo site didn't get started for more than two years after these pictures were taken. No one had hardly heard of the internet '97. I met Gary Weibel at a party who was friends with my boyfriend's brother in the fall of 1996.  Gary knew John Lefever through Chuck's People magazine story. Gary and I became friends and we made the trip in Feb '97 to Cleveland to Bob Salem's house where I first met John combo52, Tomtubomatic and Bob Salem.   John suggested that I call and chat with Jon and the rest is history.

Didn't you also found the SRVAA?

Hey Louis, SRVAA "The Society for Restoration of Vintage Automatic Appliances". Yes we did, even had that name on the website for quite a few years, but no one really used it and it didn't stick so I took it down.
