Isn't It Amazing?

How well things hold up if they're cared for?

It seems to be a fact of life- most people just don't take care of things. So many of my treasures have come from thrift stores, and as grateful as I am to have found them, I have sometimes been more than a little irate at their condition as-found. Do people spend their weekends beating the hell out of their stuff?

Ah well. At least I've learned an awful lot about repair and restoration...

Nice machine

What is the box sitting on the open door? (It looks like a transistor radio printed circuit board).

Well as far as cleaning, it was one of the "better" cleaning impeller dishwahers, but nothing extroadinary. Hotpoints, because theyw ere a little better, were very popular in the 1950s.

See the little red cap on the right under the lower rack? That was the opening to the rinse agent dispenser that made "Spotless" dishes. That machine is in great shape, but it does not look like it was used heavily, either.

Excellent Dishwasher It's a Keeper

Growing up, we had that exact same dishwasher, it is the deluxe model. It works really well and was one of the better dishwashers of it's time. I remember it is a bit noisy, but cleans well, due to the double washes and double rinses. Durning the dry cycle, the impeller spins to aid in the drying of the dishes. I still have the original instruction booklet from that machine. What ever you do, don't get rid of it, because you will miss it.
