...I found this machine waiting in the pile at a scrap place in 96- when we moved here in 98, it sat in the garage, & today I decided to dig it out- it is rusty, had some major leaks, ( now minor ones ) looks awful, & sounds old, but with some new guts later, & some paint, it will look & sound even better- meantime, I had a chance to also experience the new canon digital I got last Christmas- I think I saw one like this refered to as a frog-eye

also...

...I had to play with the lint filter- not sure why, but what the heck, it was ...fun! btw, thats the dog blanket being washed- Jeremy likes it fresh on his closet floor every weekend! ( he is a retrieve-a-dor, 12 years old..)

photo #2

I can't help it..but that pic reminds me of the classic 3 Stooges short, where Curly matches wits with a live oyster in his chowder.

retrieve-a-dor fur

...there was enough fur to slow the water circulation, & I had to clean it out befor the rinse cycle - not as much at the end of that- Jeremy's blanket is the kind that seems to keep a bit stuck to it- I like to hang it on the line & shake it out sometimes-this is his new flat-mate Billy Harris

His face..

is swelled up because of one of those stupid fruit wasps- he is still learning about bees... Bob, next up here is the control panel- I have the matching dryer, & got that from Jeff LeFever some years back...as I said, it looks really old...

Cool !

Thanks, Robert. It looks great. I remember Jeff's dryer too. One of these days I would like to drive up to Charles county and see them live and in person.

Thanks Robert. Your agitator is very deceiving given that's not the original agitator to that machine, nor is the filter cartridge. I've been looking for this washer, a frog-eye with that color panel--not sure what ya call that color. That was an aunt's (my mom's oldest sister) only washer from the time it was bought new until she moved out of her house in 1966 or 1967. It was just her and her teenage/adult son. It wasn't used a lot because much of her laundry was picked up by a dry cleaning/laundry service. I think all that got washed were sheets, towels, whites, and a few colored clothes. Friends in Dallas had the matching dryer. The washer they had that went with that dryerr was a 1957 or 1958 frog-eye with that sun-burst (golden) color.

the decieving agitator...

...is the common black kind, that is driven by an agitator block, which sits on a drive shaft with a notch on it ( one notch..)- the thing that is different here is the basket, which came out of a newer belt drive unit- the original basket was dark blue with no specks on it- I installed the newer one yesterday...

rehab slantfront

maybe if you are going to rehab the slantfront you could have a repair clinic on it. I need to do my too and would like to see (or help) one done first. jeb

Happy to Help

Of course I will be happy to help you with your slant front. This takes me back about 20 years when I remember once helping you with a space mate dryer. MY how time flies. I suppose this time we can take lots of pictures for sharing which are sure to last even longer. Good on ya , Buddy.
