Hello,

I found a vintage Speed Queen washer and a RCA dryer for sale.

Could anyone tell me the approximate year model for each and if there's any parts availability whatsoever?

Thanks!!

The washer is late seventies to early eighties and dryer is early nineties. Parts will be more common for the dryer. Depends on what’s wrong with the washer as to whether it’s easy to fix or find the parts.

Raytheon Washer

Your washing machine is identical to one that I just picked up recently. I unfortunately lost the lid to my machine on the way home as it had a broken pivot that I was unaware of. My machine runs flawlessly and I’m assuming yours does as well. I have no complaints with the quality of the Speed Queen other than the use of cheap plastic lid pivots, LOL. It is an early Raytheon made machine, likely early 80’s.

I had the same model of washer, purchased in 1991.

Junked it last year, mainly because replacement motor cost $300. When tearing it apart for scrap, there was a significant amount of corrosion, although I had no leaks. If the washer works, it is a good machine. Minor repairs OK, but not worth the effort if you had to go down to the transmission.

I got about $22 for the scrap metal.
