Please Help!!

This sweet girl needs a loving home! She belonged to my aunt, who died last year. We inherited her when we bought my aunt's house. My partner, unfortunately is allergic to cats.

Her name is Oreo....she came with that name, but probably wouldn't care if you changed it. Oreo is such a sweetheart! And I don't say that about most cats, as I'm more of a dog person. But we really do love this girl. She loves simply to sit by your side, or in you lap, and be petted. She is just over a year old and now weighs about 10 pounds. She's been spayed and has all her shots (we can provide vet records for you.) She is litter box trained and has not scratched on any of the furniture, yet.

I'm including a few pics, and the ones of her resting in the sink have really captured what her eyes look like.....She really has kind and sweet eyes! To tell you how calm this girl is, she doesn't flinch or bat an eye when examined by the vet, even when having her temperature taken! She is OK with our dogs, even when our hyper corgi wants to lick her whiskers. She just sits and lets it happen.

We're sad to have to part with Oreo, but are anxious to find her a permanent home where she will be loved and treasured. If you, or anyone you might know can help, please let me know!

She Looks Like a Real Sweetheart

And I can vouch for the wonderful personalities and dispositions of black & white cats. I wasn't exactly a cat person until our black & white tuxedo model strolled into our lives a little over 7 years ago. She's not quite as calm as Oreo around dogs and kids but otherwise has a very similar demeanor and she has won both me and my partner over. My partner was even less of a cat person than I was.

Hmmm. . . I think I hear her coming up the stairs from the living room right now. No matter where she is, once she knows I'm sitting at the computer she shows up for lap time. But during the warm weather months, you can't drag her into the house.

David, I really hope you can place Oreo into a home that will appreciate her. Black & whites seem to be very adaptable to their situations and way less bothersome and destructive than other cats. Our girl Mia can be pretty vocal when she's hungry or wants to come in from the cold or rain, but we can hardly fault her for being a good communicator.

Good luck with finding Oreo a new living situation. If all else fails I'll bet she'd make a great shop cat if you know of any local merchant that could use a low-maintenance mascot curled up on the counter.

Still Looking......

Well, we thought that we had found a home, but it didn't work out. Oreo went home with a single dad and a 5 year old girl for the weekend, on a trial basis, and because I was going out of town, so they were also cat sitting for me. For some reason, Oreo was traumatized. She moaned and whailed a lot, and stayed near her crate, if not under the bed. And she didn't eat much. The little girl lost interest, since Oreo wouldn't play. The dad was very disappointed, but worried about Oreo. He seemed sad when I went to pick her up, and he was saying goodbye. When I brought Oreo back home, she seemed to cheer up. (sigh)

But, we simply have to keep trying to find her a good home.
