I always love this Frigidaire advertisement! One question I have always had ... they don't give a capacity amount for the agi-tub machines. What was supposed to be its recommended capacity? Thanks.

Anyone Remember the Electronic/Pushbutton Model?

Neat, Marvelous, and Exciting they are.  Not sure what year this model line-up was for - but - I purchased a Frigidaire 1-18 pair in 1978, brand new that did not have knobs, only pushbuttons on the control panels for the washer and dryer.  It had rows of push buttons to operate the various functions of the machines.  There was an indicator which moved around a dial encased under glass that showed what segment of the cycle the machine was on, but was not able to be manipulated by the operator.  It was an indicator only.  Has anybody else seen the models, and does anyone have a set.  Mine were harvest gold, and were fantastic machines.  Young and stupid, I sold them when I moved from Detroit, not realizing what I possessed.  They were very similar to those in the picture of the day and I'm sure they were GM built.  Would love to come across a pair with the pushbuttons again - any color (but Poppy would be "the bomb" as the young folks say).

ALL PUSH BUTTON 1-18s

John I have seen these but unfortunately don't have one either. These were not electronic however. Kitchen was the last maker to build a all push button washer with a rapid advance timer motor in 1987-1988. Westinghouse, Hotpoint and Kenmore started building such washers in 1959 but these were gone by 1963 with the exception of MT that continued into the early 1970s.
