My aunt and uncle had these in their new home, circa 1959. The were very stylish and did a pretty good job. Drying was a bit slow due to the extraction speed of the washer. Their whole home had Westinghouse appliances which lasted into the '80's, except for the washer. Within a couple of years, the washer became a leaky rust bucket. The first thing that happened was the paint peeling of the inside of the door. The porcelain inner tub would easily chip from loads of jeans, and eventually leave rust stains on subsequent loads. While it was very quiet while washing, the loud bangs from the drain and spin solenoids gave the machine a mechanically primitive feel.
