I don't understand programs 13 and 14, the two Superwash options. One is a warm water wash with warm water rinse and the other is a cold water wash wash with a warm rinse. Why is a rinse included in a cycle that is basically a prewash? If you have a detergent solution in the clothes, why rinse it out before going into the main wash and why follow a cold wash with a warm rinse?

Jean Shaw, you've got some 'splainin' to do.[this post was last edited: 4/14/2024-14:31]

Tom,

AldSpinBoy posted the user manual for this machine in 2009.  Super Wash on that LK works two ways.

Select only the desired Super Wash toggle and it functions as a Cold/6min or Warm/4min prewash with drain, spin, and shut off.

Select a regular cycle first, then select the desired Super Wash Cold or Warm, and the machine runs a Super Wash prewash then proceeds into the selected full cycle (auto-dispensing liquid detergent for each wash phase).  It's not clear which standard cycles can be selected ... but the reference to warm rinse infers that it works with only the four Cotton-Linens choices which all have a warm rinse (unless the Hot Water Saver switch on side of the console is set to Save, which changes Medium wash to Warm, Warm wash to Cold, and all rinses to Cold).

I believe it's 1960.  The aformentioned user guide is photos in a post (link below).  There may or may not be material in AutomaticE.  It has been some while since I perused there in detail.

Also here is some tech info posted 12-23-2013 courtesy of Kenmore71.
