Everybody was doing their best to equal Kitchen Aid, All the ads talked about it,, but no one ever came close, at least not for many years.

Our 1959/1960 version had a smaller knob handle. I think my dad picked this over KA because of the 155 degree final rinse. Also held more than KDS14.

I would love to find one

But on the East coast, I never saw such a thing, mostly Kitchen Aid, GE, Westinghouse, Hotpoint, and a very few Whirlpools

I'd take one, too. I believe Tom has one similar to this in his collection, perhaps he can enlighten us on performance, etc.

I only a couple of WK & Thermador dishwashers growing up, the oldest was a built-in at an estate sale that had the offset "H" style wash arm. I inquired about it as it was likely going to be pulled immediately upon sale of the house, but never heard anything, of course.

I only have experience with the single cycle machine. One was in the apartment of a family friend and she scalded plates before loading them so that showed nothing about the performance. The other one was in a church where our scout troop met. All I remember is that at the end of the wash, there was a long spray which arched into the tank over the lower rack and killed the layer of foam that the fine holes in the wash arm seemed to cause to form during the wash. These were both no detergent dispenser machines so they had no prewash to warm up the tank and load. The amazing thing is that everything like the sump strainer was made of aluminum yet neither of the machines I have show signs of corrosion. I don't know about the pump. The wash arm had several rows of holes. Some pointed straight up and some rows were angled to the left and some were angled to the right. They were probably adequate for the way most women used a dishwasher, but I doubt that with one wash they scrubbed like our bow tie Mobile Maid which had two water changes before the main wash.
