POR 15

I am about to buy some POR to use on the upper rim of the tub of my GE Filter Flo. Went to the POR website and the instructions say to clean the area first with Marine clean and then prepare it with the other stuff they sell before using the actual POR paint. Question, is that necessary or do I just need to make sure the area is clean and dry? If I have to order everything, I would rather do it all at once and if not, then why spend the extra money. Your thoughts?

I just make sure the area is clean and dry----after I rough it up a bit with some sand-paper.

POR-15 is a great product.
