Attention all spouses, significant others, potential partners, and/or roommates: This 'planned ignorance' referenced by Roger does not exist. I repeat, it does not exist. We do not purposely do something very badly, hoping you'll never ask us to do it again. Oh, look! Over here! A lovely shiny, distracting object!

Have said this before

If you want to know what a steady job of liquid detergents can do to a washer, look at the lint trap/pump cleanout of your front loader. Just did my Miele after a long period of neglect and it was disgusting. Have been using liquids more often as of late in an effort to make a dent in my stash, but must remember to do frequent hot washes with powder detergent and or a good dose of oxygen bleach as well.

Am willing to bet a major cause of "smelly washer" syndrome is exclusive use of liquid detergents aggravated by warmish to cold water washing without bleaches.

Powder, Liquid, PODS.

I like them all.  Different detergents for different jobs.

Whites, and my daughter's undies--Tide Free & Clear (liquid or POD)

Towels, Kitchen towels, Wash cloths--Tide Powder or Persil

Darks--Woolite for darks

of course I have more in my stash, I do/did like Sear's detergent, But I always use warm or hot, now our closest store closed in December.  There is another Sear's on the East side of town, but I'm a Westsider, we don't cross the river unless we have to, I just haven't had to.

I've put my Sears detergent in the bottom of the tub in a regular agitator machine and it still dissolved fine. It must be the hard water. My water is pretty much neutral here.
