Got my parts from Sears and am now trying to put my Hettie back together. Trouble is, it's been nearly two weeks since I took it all apart. Things are not going well-Uncle David is using BAD LANGUAGE!

Dennis is smart-he helps by staying out of my way. He says he knows I will get it back together because he believes I can fix anything. The vote of confidence is nice, but I am not as sure of myself.

Kids, if you have a moment, say a little prayer or send me some white light. I wish I had a genius like Robert here right now...

Thanks,
David

Best of luck, David!

I wish you nothing but fabulousness in this project!

I totally agree with Dennis, you can do this.

Sending you all sorts of positive thoughts.

SUCCESS!

I DID IT!

Much swearing and cussing-Dennis will just buy me a new washer next time rather than endure another afternoon like this one.

Took 5 hours to get the whole thing back together and am left with two screws still.

Ran a test run and it WORKED! Am washing my whites right now!

I only cut myself once. Part of what made this so annoying is that I have my good set of tools in the van at work and have the "B" set of tools here at home-not as good.

Yay David. I knew ya could do it!! I've got two loads to do tomorrow, I'll just put them in the car and rive on over and use your machine.

FIVE HOURS?!! You are a patient man. I would have turned it into a planter long before 5 hours elapsed. And only two screws left over; that's not bad! Congrats and may you have many care-free loads.

And is that a pink KM dryer next to it?

Frigilux-ANYONE can have a pank KM dryer with a little help from Krylon!

Again, I would have gotten this done much quicker if I had the right tools. I was missing the right size torx bit so had to get creative. Also did not have the right tool for replacing the tub clamps so had to use brawn and foul language to replace these.

Dennis says that if I ever must work on the hettie again he would prefer to be off island...

All I'm hoping for now is that it will last until Dennis retires and we go off on our next adventure.
