the other night on the PBS Newshour, they showed President Ford's funeral at Saint Margaret's and there i sat rolling my head and bugging my eyes out like an owl looking all over for you, till I remembered that St.M's was your former parish. Oh well, it's still pretty cool that you were so close to them.

Both Ed Kennedy and Bill Clinton were quoted in a New York Times Editorial praising him as a healer. Did you know he rec'd the Profiles in Courage award? I think Betty did too--not sure.

Hi Mickeyd....Whenever I saw the Fords at St. Margarets, they were in the "Presidential Pew" which was always reserved for them. Their limo would pull right up to the entrance, then the Fords were escorted into church by two secret service agents who sat in the pew behind them during Mass. After Mass, the secret service agents would escort the Fords to their limo which was at the entrance of the church.
Everyone at St. Margarets loved the Fords.
I once was able to talk to them personally but it was brief.

You're so lucky--thanks--wish i could have met them.

I hope those amices, abls, etc are piling up for the March wash-in, In the THOR AND EASY and boltdown Kenmore.

Hi Mickeyd....I already spoke to Fr. Mike, Rector at my parish and in addition to inviting him and his wife to wash in, told him I would like to bring home a batch of vestments and linens for the wash in. Last year, when I was at previous parish, St. Michaels, I brought home a batch of albs.
I had taught Nate ironing and created a monster. Nate LOVES ironing!!!....he is going to lead ironing at my house and give ironing instructions to anyone who wants it.
I have two irons and ironing boards.
