Recently while looking at the old Persil advert on T.V.Ark.I also clicked on the genre called Public Information Films and was quite surprised how many there are and all the different topics covered.
I was really interested in the "Charley says",films and I think is was great how these were done and how little children could realte to a cartoon character giving them public safety messages i.e. stranger danger, matches and the like.
Could our U.K. friends let us know if these are still showm on T.V. over there or not and did they make any difference to the perception of public safety.?
If anyone is interested go to www.tvark.org.uk,scroll through the different genres and click on Public Information Films.
I must admit some of the other ones scared me a bit especially the ones relating to house fires and the like.
Cheers folks.
Steve.
