Quick Trip and a ride in a dream car!

I dunno, I'm used to a 20 plus year old Honda with no power assists and it's odd getting into a car with power steering to me.

Besides the transmission whine, another great thing about old Chryslers was the sound of the reduction gear starter motor. Remember? Kind of like a horse whinnying!

Road Runner!

My ex had one very similar to the one in the video when we were in h.s., hers was maroon.  Same balky starting routine, also mega-easy to flood!  But once it was going, look out!   A short portion of I-80 had just opened nearby when we graduated (6/69), so one hot July night she wanted to take it up to the usually-deserted highway to see what it could do.  Man, were we flying!  Of course, a trooper nabs us.  He was really p.o.'d too.  My ex is crying immediately.  "Young lady, do you know how fast you were going?"  Ex:  "I don't know officer, the speedometer only goes up to 120!"

The marshall in the small town my parents used to live in had a red Imperial convertible - I think a '59 or '60. He used to drive it in parades, etc, obviously.
