Hey Guys, In my quest to save a Frigidaire multimatic pair, I managed to catch this awesome display stand before it went for the final ride. A buddy and I hung out at the appliance store later, oogling over an RR-4D in the back room with original instructions, then discovered the original Amana publications for the different models and went through to make a list of all the models of this style (gotta collect 'em all!). So cool! Even that RR-6 on top has an electromagnet, making the thing a real handful to move around. We discovered Amana's numbering scheme is all over the map, with appended letters and the RR-6 being a touchmatic style, but the RR-7's as Cookmatics, then RRL's, etc.

Pretty neat eh? : )

Thanks guys! My goal is to collect all the RR models so I've got a good start. Now if I can get the skinny on the RR-4D at the app store, LOL.

Hey Greg,
So far, just the 3 in the picture and an RR-9T for everday use. I've found some of the early stuff at the recycler but it's typically too far gone by then. On the upside, they've all got their glass trays, plus I found a tray from one of the early models that, instead of saying "FRONT", has a lengthy couple sentences about what can and cannot be placed in the Radarange. Interesting thing I've noticed- the RR-3's have a blue LIGHT button, the RR-4's have it in white. Surely more to come ; )

a well built machine

those amanas MW sure are well built. When we lived in St. Paul we had 2 of them. The first one had a gray cabinet and 2 timer dials-one for short cooking times(up to 5 mins) and the other for long cooking time(30 mins tops I think) It was so great because both dials would light up! Then we found a touchmatic exactly like the one my mom had paid over $500 for in 1980. Both were so heavy it took two men and a boy to move them. New micros are so light they skate allover the counter when you push the door button. I hate new cheap appliances but its what the general public demand(and then they crab cuz the quality is gone)
