Radion

Who remembers this stuff? I always thought it was fantastic, if a little strong, especially the concentrated version “Radion Micro”. Sadly it is no longer seen. However, was this product a truly remarkable detergent that was available here in the UK, or was it just rebadged Surf??? Dosing ball for Radion Micro was of a funky design too…Very nineties… Opinions…..???

Yep - I remember my grandma and great grandma both using this in their Hotpoint toploaders, and grandma later on using it in her Hotpoint Aquarius 9528 right until Radion was discontinued in 2001 or so. I have my suspicions, though, that the Sunshine Surf is actually Radion in disguise... same smell and everything, who knows!

I always used Radion in my Hotpoint Supermatic and to my mind, this was one of the best smelling detergents EVER. I used it with yellow Lenor and the fragrance lasted for days on the clothes. I was gutted when it disappeared. I have read somewhere that Surf Sunshine is Radion but having sniffed it in the Co-op, I don't agree.
