Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

How far will this Big Brother BS go?!

It's bad enough that the Left Wing Greenies took the Phosphates out of detergent! Not to mention the water and heat out of out washers and DWs. Now they are bored and need another component that makes detergent work to go after? This has gotten beyond F#*king ridiculous to outright totalitarianism!

Actually...

The chemical is a by product of Fillers placed into (and only) the Liquid Tide formulations. It doesn't have any cleaning power, or stain fighting booster use whatsoever. P&G is just going to add in another chemical in production to kill of the trace amounts from the by product.

Considering, Most of us (Washer Enthusiasts) use Powder, we'll probably and have not already, be effected by this change. Worst Case Scenario, Liquid Tide may not pour as thickly (however, I'm quite sure they'll make sure it's not noticeable)...

What's really interesting, is the amounts of this so-called "Harmful" (I quote because not a lot of research has been done to prove such dangers) is about equal or similar to those found in "Green" products.

I was in a health food store last week and came across this detergent. I must admit I had not heard of 1,4 dioxane before. From the small amount of reading I have done about the chemical is appears it is most harmful to those people who work with it daily, ie chemical plant workers. The paper also stated it is harmful if ingested, but so are a LOT of other things. There was no mention in regards to harmful levels in detergent.
