Hi! Club Friends, I'm having problems with getting a good, but not scratching Cleanser for my Kitchen Satin Finish Stainless Steel Sink. I've got the Double Sink, with the 1-side being a Smaller Disposer side and a huge Main Sink side, especially for giving you room for Washing Large Pots-N-Pans. Their being able to fit in the Sink, without being too large and splashing Water all over everything around the Sink area. I've been using Clorox Soft-Scrub and Bon-Ami mostly, but they seem like they aren't doing like they used to any more.

I would really appreciate any and all suggestions. Does anyone know of the product that I believe is called "Bar-Keepers" Cleanser? I wondered if that would work, without scratching, but don't really want to try anything else, until I get some other ideas from others here.

Stainless Steel Polish

The best product that I've found for polishing stainless steel sinks is "Cameo Aluminum & Stainless Steel Cleaner". It is a product of Church & Dwight Co. out of Princeton, NJ. It is in a plastic can, found in the grocery store along with silver and brass polishes - although you might expect to find it with Comet and Ajax. I've used it for over 20 years and its excellent on sinks and stainless steel cookware.

scratchless cleanser

Two "scratchless" cleansers I have used with good results are Bar Keeper's Friend and Bon-Ami. With both, you still have to have a gentle touch with them, but they do an excellent job. (Bon-Ami is a very old product, and its slogan is "hasn't scratched yet").

I like to use VIM liquid cleanser, find it takes off all the gunk and doesn't scratch. It may be that your stainless steel just needs a good polishing with a stainless cleanser like Flitz to bring back the shine and remove the oxidation.

Re: Thanks Guys:

Hi! Club Friends, thanks so much for your input on what I can look into trying on my Satin Stainless Steel Sink, to clean it without Scratching the Finish and get it looking good again.

As I mentioned, I have used Clorox Soft-Scrub and Bon-Ami and I have carefully also used Comet, but lately it just hasn't been cleaning as I wish it would and looking afterwards. I'm going to try the Bar Keepers Friend Cleanser, to see how it does and I will report back later on.

although I don't have a SS sink...

I do use the Barkeepers on the stove and it does a great job. It contains Oxalic acid which has bleaching properties. I haven't used Cameo in some time but recall that is a very good product too!
