Okay, I'll bite.
As I read the link you provided I get a little chill. You see, one of the things that most distressed me about Republicans (and too many Democrats) that last 8 years is how yielding they became vis-a-vis the demands of the religious right. The Terri Schiavo debacle was a huge historic moment of legislators selling out to such forces. Fortunately the judicial system eventually would have no truck with such stuff. But as now Pres. Obama tests the wind of religious support -- I get a bad feeling.

I put money on it that in that Gallup poll he sites, that Republicans voters were so disillusioned with Republican antics that they called themselves conservatives rather than party identify. Well, duh, now the Rs in Congress want to suck up the the Ds? They are clueless as to who their base is -- CONSERVATIVES.
