My sister informed me tonight that her dishwasher was recalled. It is a 7-8 year old maytag....something about the rinse "thingy" as she puts it. just wanted to let everyone know. Jeff is going to hook her up with another dishwasher.

GE will fix for free or offer a discount coupon for a reduction in the purchase price of a new one.

This has been discussed at length here, several months ago. Don't remember the thread. Mine was one of the recalled Maytags and when the technician came, found that mine was defective. Got it fixed, free, and plan to keep it.

We had the same thin also

Got rid of the Maytag and got a Whirlpool dishwasher. Got a whopping $50.00 rebate from Whilpool. If the rinse aid dispenser was a fire hazard my thinking was what else is wrong with it that we don't know about.

was on the list also. had mine fixed.. best dishwasher I've ever had. I plan on keeping it.
