Nutone Mixer

How do you like the Mixer on your food center? Maybe the part we have is worn or something, but it only works if you keep pressure on the top of the mixer shaft. The blender and knife sharpener works fine, but the mixer....

Appnut- Glad we could stir up some good memories for you! And, no, I'm not always THAT friendly!!! And to think, I hold my toothbrush with that hand!!! :-)

dalangdon- The mixer seems to work fine. The only thing we noticed was when Rich put the cooked potatoes in to whip them, without milk or butter at first, they were heavy enough that they lifted the beater and stem up a little, which didn't allow the beater to go smoothly. Once milk was added, it was fine. Though the motor is heavy duty, I don't think it can deal with a large heavy mass like that. Maybe if we'd forked the potatoes up a little before putting them in, they'd have done better before the milk was added?

When Rich did the sweet potatoes in it, he just put the large roasted cubes in and turned it on. Maybe they were fine because they're wetter than regular potatoes?

Just had to say ....

Perc thanks for the pictures, that stove is WONDERFUL. Oh why can we not buy such nice things like that anymore? Dinner sure looked good too. alr2903

that was too much! the electrical control center, the nutone and the Royal (vacuums) mixer? its illegal to have soo many cool gadgets!

A Chef's Delight!!

I absolutely LOVE your kitchen and all the great small and large appliances!! They sure turn out some tasty chow too!!

Those Nutones are awesome! They do everything but wash the dishes! ;-)

After a weekend of dining at your place, they'd be charging me for "extra baggage" at the airport!! LOL

Wowwee! I love it all. I'm snatching that Culinaire whenever I come to visit!! I'd never heard of it before either. It's the very same design and principle as my Bosch mixer and the Electrolux Assistent mixer. It's possible that it also originally came with dough hooks. That power center is also way too neat. Total control from soup to nuts. LOL

I am Drooling over that kitchen!!!!!

OMG....Rich, aren't you the lucky one!!!! You kind of have me going nutty at the moment though...Is the whole thing put back together? It looks like it in the pictures. If it is....Sweetie....a pic of the wall from a few steps back? PLEASE!? =)

Hugs, DJ

Pete, if that was a KUDJ22 or KUDJ23 I'd be ecstatic!!, but my trust GE PotScrubberr GSD1200 is what's facing me from the bottom cabinet. !!! Hmm, Toggle did say if he had the extra Dracmas laying around, he'd have shipped the one GadgetGary hs to me, bless his loveable little heart!!

Chuck & Rich....

Thank you Soooo much for the pictures!! Everything looks incredible! I just cant wait to see it all finished!! You guys didnt leave ANYTHING cool out of this remodel!!!

Bob/appnut-I've got a GSD2200 PotScrubber. They may not be much, but they get the job done. It's very quiet, too....so I'll enjoy it just fine until I get something fun and retro to replace it with =)

Oh why can we not buy such nice things like that anymore?

I guess it has to do with things lasting. Much like the Studebaker. If you build it to last then nobody will buy have another new one.

"its illegal to have soo many cool gadgets!"...Oh I hope not, David. So many of us would be in jail :-)

"I absolutely LOVE your kitchen and all the great small and large appliances"... Thanks, Retromom. I never thought that I would like the 60's look. We both wanted to do it in 1940's but I'm having a hellava good time with it!! I fel like a cross between Laura Petrie and Jane Jetson when I pop up the stove hood, turn on the Nutone and start cooking :-)

"I`ve been drooling over that food all day, and the wall mounted power centre"...Send me your address and I'll mail you some :-) Can you believe that someone would just throw away that power center? That's how I got it...At the dump!!!

"And just where is the Dishwasher????"... In the kitchen, Bob. LOL!! We are not using the late 50's KA top loader. It has to be serviced so right now we are using a GE Quiet Power 1 Pot Scrubber that we have had for a while. Works very well BUT I don't know what is quiet about it!

"I'm snatching that Culinaire whenever I come to visit!!" You come and visit and we'll talk, Pete!! :-) The Royal Culinaire came with many attachments. You can take a look at some at http://ph.groups.yahoo.com/group/WACEM/photos/browse/e37b. I only have the mixer and large bowl.

"Thank you Soooo much for the pictures!!"... You are very welcome!! We will post a few more pics when it is complete :-)

Thanks all for the kind words!!

Rich

Mmmm, I'm hungry again....

Seriously, very nice showing.
