Were the model numbers on the dishwashers laid out the same as their washing machines? I am reading this as a 1965 model?

Umm... maybe the dryer is NOT the exact match??
The more I look at the photo, the more I think the dryer is not the "matching" dryer. Oh well, close enough! LOL
Ben, Thank you for dating the Bendix washer! The lever on the front of it, what does it do? I mean, I know it unlocks the door when you push it one direction, but it also moves the other direction too, what does that do, lock the door or maybe start the machine?

My stars that's a pretty "almost" pair. A little TLC and they'll be awesome. I wonder, could the buyer's remorse have anything to do with lack of lighted panels? Shhh, they'll get their feelin's hurt!!

Finding this Lady Kenmore dishwasher was a TOTAL surprise. After looking at the Bendix set, I took a look at an old Philco fridge (a bottom freezer model, probably late 40's or early 50's(?) and already sold) in the back of the storage unit. The dishwasher was in front of it with the front panel facing the wall. There was just enough room to open the door and peek inside. When I did I first saw the Roto-rack and THEN the box of Cascade still taped to the lower rack. I thought "OMG, IT'S NEVER BEEN USED!" and "I HAVE to grab this too!" Obviously I did!
I spoke with the elderly woman about a price for all three. It ended up being higher then I really wanted (part of my buyers remorse), but I thought, OK, it will help her out since her husband of 61 years recently died.
On the rest of the "buyers remorse"... that's just me. As I was driving home I was thinking about the restoration of the Bendix set and how parts it probably needs are probably not obtainable anywhere. I'm sure as the week progresses those thoughts will dissipate.
I'm sure I'll work through it.... with all of your help and support!
So thank you to all of you for your positive comments, they are definatly helping. I will have other photos once I can unload them from my truck and clean them up a bit.

Real awasom finds. I like this Bendix design. I remember seeing it in a 1954 magazine. The Kenmore dishwasher is out of this world. Is their a chance if their are instruction manuals you could scan them?

That Bendix "almost perfect" pair are a.k.a. "Margaret Anderson Specials," as used by Jane Wyatt's character on TV's "Father Knows Best."

You're right in saying the lever operates the door latch. On the one we had, it worked in either direction, mechanically lifting the latch to release the door tongue. There was also a small button on top of the chrome, above the latch knob, which I don't see on this model. It was a "childproofing" feature in that the button needed to be pressed down in order to unlock the lever, which could then be moved to open the door. If the control panel lid was closed, and bearing in mind it was steel and therefore comparitively heavy for a child to lift, it did offer some protection against a child opening the door mid-cycle and getting scalded with the hot wash water tumbling out over him.

I laughed when I saw the header, I thought you`d gotten soooo full that you had to get storage etc...Lol
Lovely Bendix set there, I`m sure you will have them up and running in no time, and with that heater on the go the lights are definately gonna be dimmin around you!!

Wow Kevin, those are just beautiful finds!!! Congratulations. It will be interesting to see what needs to be done to get these beauties up and running again. How is the door boot on the washer? The heater on that washer is totally worth the restoration effort.
Wow! I've never seen the Bendix pair or the Kenmore dishwasher, before. Kevin, you turn that buyer's remorse into joyous dancing in the streets, pronto! Great, great finds.

Jim, the metal thing is where the fan forced, heated dry air enters the tub. The air enters and circulates the heat from the bottom element to do the dry. Nifty.

The stainless baffle on the right side of the tank is where the water enters the tub, the baffle chutes the water upward over the dishes. This model does not have a blower for drying D&M hadn't introduced fan forced drying yet.

I have learned that this Lady K dishwasher is in fact a 220V/230V model as it has a double coil, 2700 watt calrod heating element! WOW, who knew?
