Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

It's a 220V model!

Thanks John! I was going to post info about that baffle thing during my break, but you beat me to it!

I have learned that this Lady K dishwasher is in fact a 220V/230V model as it has a double coil, 2700 watt calrod heating element! WOW, who knew?

Kevin

Kevin, Congratulations! What an incredible fine - the Bendix pair and the Kenmore DW. And a box of old Cascade. What I would give to get a sniff of the old Cascasde again.

Would this dishwasher have been destined for Europe or elsewhere which uses the 220/230V electrical system?

Mike

Boy, Kevin you are sure on a front loader kick lately, aren&

Oh come on Andy... you knew I had a "thing" for front load washers, didn't you? LOL

Robert, I only quickly looked at the tub boot/seal and it looked OK. I will check everything more closely once I can find someone to help unload them from the truck!

LKM 230 VOLT DISHWASHER

This machine is a US model its 230-240 60 cycle. I wish we had made more 240 volt machines I think this would be a good answer to these damn new dishwashers that run for two hours. If you get the heat up faster and get the job done in 45 minutes it would have to use less electricity than keeping the whole machine hot and running the motor for two hours, to say nothing of much less wear & tare on the motor & pump seals and vinyl rack coatings.

NO. The thee-wire system means it also uses 110-120v for lights, timers and motors making it unsuitable for foreign lands.

I remember an ad for Chambers dishwashers that mentioned there was a 230 volt model available that provided the 180F water on selected cycles like this Kenmore did. And no insulation on the tub! I think D&M was the only domestic manufacturer to offer a 230 volt machine back then. They should be offered now.

Ha!

I'd like to see THIS Kenmore in MY driveway.

(Is four dishwashers in the kitchen too much? And is moving the stove to use the outlet to run the dishwasher impractical?) :-)

What a great find!

I don't know, I'd be hard pressed on the dishwasher, Do I power it up or do I leave it in it's virgin condition. Odds are I'd breakdown and use it, but it would be a challenge. Odds are it's the only one of it's kind -unused that is...

*In a whining voice*

"Robert... Jon (Jetcone) is black mailing me..."

LOL

So Jon, this is probably a '55, not a '56? Is there a way to tell from the model/serial#? That info is: Model: WEG-H Serial:457066

Here is a better photo of the door (of course my silly camera focused on the drum INSIDE rather then the door! LOL)
