Thanks to John (Harvestgold)... (Yes John I am blaming YOU!) I went to look at, and ended up bring home a couple things from a rented storage space and I think I'm going through just a *little* buyers remorse.... but that, I'm sure will change over time.

Well folks... here they are........

Yes... a Bendix WEG-H washer and matching gas dryer!

They have been in storage for yeeeeeears! Not in really great cosmetic shape, but nothing really bad.

The washer controls. Of course the rubber seal for the detergent fill just disintegrated when I touched it. The washer still has the water supply hoses connected to the back!

The dryer is missing the timer knob I believe.

AND............ THE EVEN BIGGER SURPRISE..........

This dishwasher has N E V E R been used!!!!!! WOW!!!!

I'm not big into dishwashers, BUT I HAD to grab this too!

More later, I have to rush off to dinner!

That asher was the model my "grandparents" had, the dryer too. They had a "matched" set I do remember, but I remember the dryer being slightly different, the controls "hidden" under a flip-top door too. That dishwasher gives me goosbumps!!!

buyers remorse

Um, seriously?

The Gyromatic would be a 1956. I love that it has the magic heater - what I would consider one of the coolest washers made in the 50's. I've got a beautiful DD Kenmore that would be a fantastic trade .... ;-)

The colors on the Lady K buttons are perfect. I imagine it would be difficult to color coordinate any kitchen to match those hues! And it is new.... uggg...

Ben

HOLY SOCKS K-MAN!

I don't know what to say, I really don't. You told me you were going to look at a Bendix w/d pair, and you didn't sound all that enthused. I guess something changed!!!! LOL

Dude, that DISHWASHER! WOW!

Congratulations

Kevin, what a wonderful find. I love the Bendix set and a brand new never used Lady Kenmore, you must be living right!!!

Buyer's Remorse?!?!?!?

Were you dropped on your head as a kid??? Wow, wow, wow!

The Bendix set alone is a wonderful find BUT that dishwasher... I think you're gonna have the RotoRack boys all worked up into a lather! Awesome! So when is it going into your kitchen? I'll bet the proper color panels are in that color pak. And if you say 'no, it's not', I'll stand back as the thundering herd books flights for So.Cal... LOL!

RCD

BTW, is that box of Cascade as solid as a brick or what? ;')

Get the smelling salts Walter, I'm having a spell!

That Bendix set is just to die for! Like Ben, this is one of my favorite Bendix design eras. I need to do some scanning!

You'll be the envy of the neighborhood with that Lady K in your kitchen too, everyone will want to come for coffee and cake.

KENMORE ROTO RACK DISHWASHER

That DW would be about a 1966 model. Our family got our first DW that year we got the mid level KM DW. This was probably the last somewhat good D & M machine before they went to the taller door. I figured in the 10 years we had that machine I replaced almost every part of it except the tank and the racks even the inner door rusted out and was replaced. Its really neat you found one in new condition it may be the only one left it really brought back memories seeing the inside. They also made this machine in a 240 volt version where the pink hi temp button heated the second wash and the final rinse to 180 instead of 145 degrees.

Fascinating ...

The Bendix washer is similar to, but not the same as, the one I grew up with. The timer and water miser dials on ours were covered over so that only the front 120 degress of arc was visible, whereas the entire surface of the dials is visible on this machine. The glass on the door of ours was clear too, rather than having that white rim.

I always find the differences between models interesting. Often there seems to be no radical engineering difference "under the hood", but just cosmetic changes to appeal to the latest decorating (and/or automotive engineering) trends.
