Rhubarb Cobbler....

The latest thing from the oven of the Norge! LOL I couldnt believe the store had rhubarb this time of year, but it was beautiful all red, made a pretty pie.

We always grew rhubarb and strawberries when I was growing up, which made for the best cobblers and pies...

That looks so good, Hans! I have rhubarb in the freezer and may have to make a cobbler or cake. I'm surprised you were able to find it fresh in the produce section so early in the year.

I'm going to look for some rhubarb at the store tonight!  This looks wonderful and now I'm craving it.  Mom might have some in the freezer if there isn't any in the store right now.  

My grandfather had 6 rhubarb plants in his 1/4 acre garden and I remember pulling off a stalk of it and eating it right from the ground - better than sour candy!

I was wandering through my local Meijer's today and noticed a large pile of rhubarb in the produce section, so I guess it's in season somewhere.  Unfortunately I was looking for some egg plant, need some for a recipe I want to try - none to be found.

I love that stuff too, We grew it in our garden and had it all the time when I was a kid.

Stopped at the local Mennonite market today and
bought rhubarb.

At one of the Amish restaurants in Sarasota, FL, years ago, I had wonderful strawberry-rhubard crumb top pie. It was about 3 inches high and would have been top heavy and tippy were it not so wide. Just three words to describe it: Fab-U-Lous.
