Robert's Machines visit Vancouver

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Those are definitely Robert's machines! I did notice that it was a want ad, not a sale ad...whoever posted this was simply using the pictures to illustrate what he/she was looking for. Probably should have asked for permission first...

Not a big deal you guys.

I take it as a compliment that someone likes my pictures enough to use them. So many of the copyright laws in this country are so very outdated and are absolutely out of control and are unnecessary, except for making millions of dollars for a select few, which is so sad and stifles creativity. If my pictures help someone get a great vintage machine or two, then use them with pleasure.

The Real Way To Be

Robert,
Your selflessness blows me away. The hours you give, your generous spirit and the calm and responsible manner of handling adversity, is an incredible example for me to learn from. I stand amazed, over and over, at what an incredible person you are. Thank you for all the enjoyment and pleasure, I recieve, daily, from all you give.

Yes Robert, You rock!

And if those machines were for sale in Vancouver, My butt would be up there buying them. The thing is that I know if they came from a www.automaticwasher.org member, they have been painstakingly restored and valued by the restorer.

Hmmm, wonder who that could be?

Okay, its me.

I don't want things to get too interesting, as I look forward to meeting you-all someday. The camoradorie and help on this site is amazing.

The want ad did generate one hit here is Seattle, the 1952 Kenmore. The Hotpoint was in Portland and listed twice by the owner -- I think it was going to the crusher the next day because I waited three weeks before I decided to make the drive and contacted him the day the info dissappeared from craigslist.

I am not really looking to start a big collection. My ambition is to find a matching vintage washer and dryer set for the laundry room. I can tell from looking at the site this does happen occasionally, but is no everyday occurance.

I've had the experience of walking into antique and used appliance stores and asking for these vintage machines -- you probably know the responce. Anyway craigslist if free and my experience with it has been positive so far. I am trying to get myself between these machines going to the junkyard -- people don't really know there are folks interested in them.

Best regards - Brian

How about a Maytag set?

Does this set interest you? They would probably need some restoration but they've been on Craigslist here in Portland for weeks now and they have dropped from $75 to only $50 for the set. The ad will probably drop soon so don't delay if interested. If you need help you can contact me through email.

Good Luck - Patrick
