Rosie O'Donnell has decided to leave "The View" this June. ABC couldn't come to terms with the comedienne/actress on a new one year contract. Love her, (I do) or hate her, she reinvigorated this slowly dying show and the ratings proved it. I am saddened. While I didn't always agree with Rosie's opinions, she made that show must see TV.

I saw a LOT of "the view" when I was home (Mom likes her television LOUD and her house HOT, lol) and I think Rosie was good. Yeah, she's loud and abrasive, but so what? I like loud and abrasive women (as long as they're not being loud and abrasive to me ;-)

I wonder if she was just too controversial for network TV. They want to keep things dumbed down, and while a show featuring a bunch of women yakking is pefect for that, they want to make sure they stick to "women's subjects", and Rosie wasn't doing that.

Oh well, it looks like I'm starting back to work, so it doesn't matter either way to me. My days of a homemaker are numbered ;-)

I do admit that Rosie does get involved in a lot of "fun" things, and really shows enthusiasm for what she does, however it seems she always over does the lesbian angle on subjects. Women will always be right no matter what.

But then again, The View is aimed at female viewers.

Personally I don't care for her. Loud people grate on me and Rosie overdoes it methodically in an unnatural way, almost calculating when she can butt in or spout off. If you watch closely you can see her eyes shifting to see if the camera is on her or not. I've only watched the show a couple of times and not right through.

Quitting Too Soon

I share a similar trait with Rosie. I see her willing to sacrifice and take a stand, but then she leaves when her efforts aren't appreciated. There is a piece of 13 year teenager in many of us who go to our room and slam the door instead of standing the good fight. For Rosie's own healing, I'd like to see her get a thicker hide and push on. She is an advocate many who don't have a voice. She rails agaisn't what she believes is unjust regardless of gender and orientation.

She's Nuts

Rosie is outta her tiny mind!

Her movie career tanked. Her talk show tanked. Under her name and leadership, McCall's Magazine tanked, after 105 years of publication.

And now that she's been welcomed to network TV with open arms, something's not good enough?

I agree with Kelly- there has always been something a bit juvenile about O'Donnell, something that makes her say, "If you don't play my way, I'll take my ball and go home."

I suspect that this time, the other kids may just find a new playmate, and leave Rosie alone for good.

I agree sometimes Rosie can be a bit much but the one that irritates the hell out of me is Elisabeth Hassleback. Why is she there and she cant be that stupid. It amazes me the stuff she comes up with and how she tries to monopolizes a conversation. I have been watching the show and when I cant ..yes I DVR it...I will admit it. I watch it mostly for the banter that they have especially for Joy Bahar. Babs for an old girl surprises me.

Pete:

You are not the only one who notices Rosie watching the camera. I think that Rosie will join Rosanne (remember her?) on the comedy club circuit and be sucessful.

Since she has high name recognition, I imagine she will spend lots of time supporting her favorite charities.

If you don't play my way, I'll take my balls and go home.

A "L" who happends to be loud and abrasive? NO WAY! IT CAN'T BE!

She is her own unique creation and loved by the creator just as everyone else is. But a good muzzle is sometimes priceless. And yes, (wryly) I DO take my own advice..

: -)

not her content.....

It was not her or her abrasiveness. I read that she wanted a 1 year contract and ABC wanted a 3 year contract. So ABC definitely wanted to keep her....unless they knew she would not sign a 3 year contract......who knows......;)

Not To Offend..

But good bye to bad rubbish, that is what I say.

Miss. O'Donnell, IMHO is the most loud,crass,self-centered,ballsy,woman one has ever come across. Always cutting other persons off to insert her opinions (which of course is always correct on all matters), and hasn't a clue how to behave like a lady amoungst other ladies. Ever since she arrived on "The View", she quickly hijacked the program to become "The Rosie O'Donnell" show.

To put it another way, the woman is a big-mouthed broad, who shouldn't be let out of doors except when muzzled.

Well, "good riddance" is all I have to say. I don't care for her OR her attitude. It's interesting though how Barbara Walters is saying she had nothing to do with it which is obviously a flat-out lie, but I guess you have to look good for the camera. To paraphrase a previous saying:

rosie i would not miss you if you were gone

LMAO

I USED to love Rosie . . .

when she was a stand-up comedian on VH1's Stand-Up Spotlight, and even when she had the Rosie O'Donnell show. Back in the day she was fun-loving and seemed to have a true concern for folks.

Now she is arrogant, self-centered and seems to care more for the argument than for the cause (whatever the cause may be on any given day). Though I never watch "The View", the clips I have seen on TV don't show her in a very good light. I'm glad she's gone again.

I am even more thankful that I have a job and don't have time to watch "The View", or the next daytime TV show featuring Rosie O'Donnell! LOL.

ive disliked her ever since she pretended to be in love with Tom Cruise and surrounded herself with children in order to throw people off her... lavender vibes. i say throw her and Ann Coulter into a cage and shake!

strong opinions here

Well, Rosie is one of those people we either love or hate. I for one think her intentions are good ,however she can sometimes open mouth and insert foot. I believe she is a lightening rod because she speaks what many people think and isn't afraid quite frankly of what others think of her. Lets face it friends, she has more $$$ than any of us will ever have and in this country, sadly.. money talks. I also think many people don't like her because she has decided to come out and isn't afraid to talk openly about her partner Kelli or the fact she is a lesbian. Let's face it, many people dislike her because she is a lesbian and that alone. Plain and simple. What bothers me though is do we hold the same standard to opinionated, loud mouths such as Bill O'Reilly? Ann Coulter? Rush Limbaugh? In my opinion, they are just as abrasive, not to mention bigoted. Think about it.

ok- off my soap box.
Take care friends.
