Rosie quits 'The View"

I don't have a problem with the fact that she is a Lesbian, it's the fact that she is so very in your face with it! She doesn't just offer you her opinion, she offers her opinion, then bitch slaps you with it (version 5), shoves it down your throat, and if you don't agree with her you are wrong.

So it's not a Gay card issue, it's a abrasive personality issue.

My guess is also that Barbra Walters, for all her public show of support during the Trump fight, is probably breathing a sigh of relief but will never publicly admit that. There can only be one queen bee in the hive at a time.

Maybe they could get Sandra Bernhardt to replace Rosie?

Rosie was wonderful as a standup. Once she came out, she got very militant and abrasive.

I'm not home to watch The View, but while taking care of my mother 2 weeks ago, I got to watch it every day (thanks, Ma!). While obvious she hijacked the show, the real problem was that there was no way to keep her in check. Every anti-Bush conspiracy theory is her faith and gospel. She actually does have some very good ideas about what "America" is all about, but she is totally clouded by her hatred of GW Bush and inserts it into every conversation.

I'm glad she is off the show, but I'm sorry she's become so hateful and meanspirited compared to how she used to be...

I haven't ever seen much of "The View" but from the little I have, it's clear that Rosie takes up a lot of room. One thing for sure, she pulls no punches and you always know where she stands--even if you don't want to!

I'm with the people who say she's too gratuitous with the references to being a lesbian. That's the same thing that wrecked Ellen's sitcom. Once they aired the episode where she came out, the whole show changed and all of the writing focused on being gay and ratings took a nosedive. I know I certainly stopped watching, as it was too painful to see network TV struggle with this awkward situation. WHY did ABC even allow the writers to contnually assault us with that particular story line? She came out, that's that, move on and keep writing the clever stuff instead.

And has anybody noticed that Jeremy Piven, a co-star on Ellen's sitcom, never refers to it or lists it among the past roles he's played and refuses to talk about it? That closet he's in with Mario Lopez and George Clooney just keeps getting more crowded all the time. Must be fun in there, though!
